3 Shared Secrets To The Ultimate Luxury Escape

Luxury Escapes - Tigers Den

Instead of suggesting destination activities and ideas with you, we thought that this month we’d let our guests do the talking.

Here we share the anecdotes of three travellers who have stayed at Tiger’s Den, and are now well known to us and visit often. They understand the value of a luxury escape, and how it rejuvenates and revitalizes in unimagined ways.

“Our new luxury escape annual destination!”

When you book this property, the owner writes back with a note “Welcome to Paradise”. I admit, I was a bit doubtful about this claim, and as we arrived after dark, we couldn’t really see where we were. So waking up was like Christmas morning, the most happy surprise! Keith is not exaggerating! I then rented this property for a girl’s long weekend in Marlborough wine country.

We would certainly recommend Picton as the location to stay in if you are doing the same. While Blenheim is closer to the vineyards, it is nothing special (sorry Blenheim). Picton nestles in the beautiful bay of the Sound, is small picturesque and full of quaint shops and restaurants.

And if you are after a beautiful place to stay with an incredible view, then Tigers Den is for you. The owners have thought of everything, the pictures don’t do it justice. I think the view is in fact a trap, as it’s so difficult to move away from it. The property was simply stunning – within hours of being there we had decided it should be the venue of our annual getaway.

We think everybody needs a luxury escape, and Tiger’s Den is that for us. Huge recommend and thank you to the owners for accepting our booking – see you in March next year (if not before)!

“Stunning Views & Sheer Luxury accommodation”

Staying at the Tigers Den is truly an incredible experience, with the most amazingly stunning views.

We particularly enjoyed breakfast on the front deck in the morning sun watching the boats coming in and out of Waikawa Bay. And soaking in the spa pool on the back deck in the afternoon sun was a real treat, looking out to the bay and surrounding hills and houses.

We loved the ‘tucked away’ privacy we enjoyed, and yet can see for miles. A comfortable and pleasurable experience with 5 star facilities. I hope to visit again one day.

We chose Tigers Den for my husbands 30th birthday along with a group of friends over Easter. Keith was beyond helpful, and suggested various local attractions such as fishing charters and jet skiing. He even organised our shuttle from Picton Ferry.

The house itself is amazing. It offers spacious living areas and comfortable bedrooms. It even boasts a great entertainment system which enabled us to listen to music in all areas of the house. Young ones were with us for the weekend and the house accommodated them with a porta cot provided. The kitchen was fantastic and along with the BBQ we were able to cook for all the guests staying with us.

Waikawa Bay has a peaceful and calm feel about it, the locals are friendly and the surroundings are breath taking. Coming from the hustle and bustle of the city, it’s quiet and picturesque, and so relaxing. Writing this, I can’t speak more fondly of Tigers Den.

We hope to visit again and see more of what Marlborough has to offer – maybe leave the kids at home next time and visit the wineries 😉
